Completing Paperwork
If you feel good about our meeting, next step we will have you fill out all the appropriate forms. Your therapist will email you over intake paperwork that will be completed at your convenience before your first meeting. This gives you a chance to provide us with information about yourself that you want to share in advance. Your therapist will review this before your first session.
Initial Intake
Your first session will be an initial intake session. During this meeting we will discuss what brings you to therapy, what your life currently looks like, and what your goals and hopes are for therapy. This meeting is meant to be thorough, we want to get a good idea of who you are and what you’re dealing with so that we can begin to tailor our treatment to your specific needs and individualities. We will decide during your initial intake session what frequency of appointments makes sense for your unique situation and adjust periodically as needed. You and your counselor will discuss a plan for your therapy which will be reviewed periodically during your treatment.
Therapeutic Sessions
After your intake session you are all set to begin individual sessions. These sessions are 55 minutes long and will occur either weekly or bi-weekly, dependent on your needs.
This is where the magic begins. Therapy can look different for everyone based on what they are needing and how their individual style for learning and growth best takes place. Our therapists strive to find the perfect balance of treatment for you, comprised of a thoughtful blend of processing space and skill work.
Additionally throughout your course of care we can offer coordination with other providers that you work with. This can include your primary care doctor, psychiatrist, naturopath, or physical therapist. This communication is not required and is based on your personal preferences and comfortability, but we do believe that this contact is best practice and allows you to be fully supported in your wellness and healing.
